Mission Statement

To be a community based organization that responds to the needs of its residents.
Purpose: Gideon’s Army is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including for such purpose: the assisting of low income families sending their children back to school; distribution of food to families in need and providing families in need with basic necessary appliances and electronic devices.
Gideon’s Army was founded in 2012 by members of a church in Newark. These folks have a strong belief that our children are the future and a strong education is the key to success; as a result they were on a mission to help the children especially those in need by providing them with basic school supplies. After seeing the response from the children, the smile on their faces after receiving a backpack with supplies these people decided to make this an annual event and some day nationwide.
